Plant
cells are similar to animal cells in that they are both eukaryotic cells
and have similar organelles. Plant cells tend to be bigger in size to the animal cells. Plant cells
are different to Animal cells as the Plant cells come in all similar sizes but Animal
cells come in irregular shapes and sizes. Plant cells contain some structures
that are not typically found in an Animal cell but they are made up of mostly
the same organelles as each other so this list below will only be the different
organelles that aren't found in the Animal cell. These include Cell Wall, Large
Vacuole and Chloroplasts. If you want to see the other organelles and their functions, you can go to the Animal Cell
information page and you can do this by clicking on the button below.
Cell Wall: The outermost layer of the cell that gives shape to the cell and protects it from infection.
Chloroplasts: Chloroplasts absorb sunlight and use it in conjunction with water and carbon dioxide gas to produce food for the plant.
Large Vacuole: a storage place for water as the plant cell is about 90% water. It can also contain other food, nutrients and even waste products.

As it said on the Animal Cell page, all of these organelles work hard to produce energy for the cell to keep it alive. Organelles are very important and have their own special jobs.
